5 years ago today Mason was born. I went from working full time, being totally independent, doing pretty much whatever I wanted to being thrust into this new world of being a mom. It was a hard adjustment at first.. not knowing what to do with this new little guy that I was now in charge of. Oh how I wish I could go back and savor every little moment that we had together those first few months instead of stressing about every little thing. I am now pregnant with our third little boy and I plan to take everything in knowing that this will be my last. I can't believe that Mason is 5, he has been a joy in our life and I love him more than I could ever begin to explain. He is hilarious, smart, loving, handsome, a great big brother and just a great kid. Where did the time go??

We are so excited to announce that we are going to be having another baby! This will complete our family..whether it's a boy or a girl :) I'm not gonna lie I'm a little freaked about the idea of having 3. I've already had multiple anxiety attacks but I know this little one that is coming is meant to be and I'll be ready in 9 months.. and we really do make cute babies!

Week 4 & 5 Results

So I am still going strong on my way to a new me. It is slow, but I know that if I keep it up, slow is better than nothing or gaining, am I right?? I have struggled a bit on the weekends, I have to be honest about that. I just can't be so strict on myself or else I will most definately fail. So a few treats here and there are what keep me going.. sorry Trish! Also, I have been doing Jillian Michaels Ripped in 30 DVD. It's her brand new DVD that she just came out with. It's so brutal. I have done it 12 days in a row. I have never stuck with a workout that long before. It's 4 weeks with a different workout every week, and it progressively gets harder with every week. I start week 3 tomorrow and I am so very scared. I can see a difference in my muscle tone & endurance already! I watched a preview of week 3 today and it was like a horror movie. YIKES!

So I have decided to start weighing in on Wednesday's just because Monday's seem to be not so good. I have done really good. I never thought I would be able to make it this far. I am now on my 4th week and it really does get easier as the weeks go by. I feel great! It is coming off slowly but surely.

Week 3 Results: 3.2 lbs lost. A total loss of about 8.5 lbs. Yeah!!!

So I have just finished my first week on my new eating/exercise plan. Im not gonna lie, it was really really hard at times, but I stuck to it. The weekend was brutal, I'm so used to eating out with my family and enjoying dessert at Sunday dinner, but I did it. I didn't have ONE homemade chocolate chip cookie. That is a HUGE accomplishment for me. Bakery food is my biggest weakness. So here are my results...

A new me

So I really hesitate posting this but I feel it will help me to stick to this and be accountable. I don't even know if anyone reads this but if I think that there are a few of you that do, then it will help. I have started a new eating/exercise plan today. I have never been more determined, dedicated, excited & ready for a new me. It's a 12 week plan, so right around memorial day is when the new me will emerge. I haven't felt good for awhile and I know it is because of how I eat. When I go to the store I typically buy stuff for my boys, so that means a lot of "kid friendly" food with a few healthy snacks mixed in. I end up eating the same stuff because that is all there is. So today I have started the transformation to the new me. I will post weekly updates on my progess. Stay tuned..

A few years ago my sister-in-law Jodi gave me some shampoo and conditioner for my birthday. It was the Burt's Bees Very Volumizing Pomegranate and Soy. I haven't used anything else since. I was the type of person that would get sick of a certain brand of shampoo after a few months and move on to something else. My hair is very very fine and I could never seem to find the perfect shampoo that wouldn't leave my hair feeling limp and just plain dull. I have to say that Burt's Bees is the best product that I have ever used. It smells good, it gives my hair volume and doesn't leave any build-up. But the best part is that all their products are 98.9% all natural. So there are no chemicals or any other weird ingredients. Since then, I have started using their body washes, lotions, lip balm and I use the bubble bath for my kids. Next on my list is their moisturizer's. I just can't bring myself to spend $25.00 yet.. I don't think I will ever use anything else. So thanks Jodi for giving me a great birthday present!

YOGA

So recently I have taken up yoga. I never thought I would be one of those people that would talk about how much yoga means to them and how happy it makes them feel because really, I always just thought of it as stretching for a long time. Well, I am here to tell you that it has become my favorite way to break a sweat. I look forward to going every time, and it doesn't hurt that I get to take classes from my sister Abbey who is amazing! She is the very best yoga instructor around. Yoga has helped my insomnia, it has helped with stress, and it has helped me lose a few inches around my waist, and it just makes me feel really happy when I am done. I never thought in a million years I would be able to do some of the poses, but I am amazed at some of the stuff I can do now! Anyway, I just felt like telling everyone that you should give yoga a try! I think you will be pleasantly surprised by the results.

Summa Summa Summatime

Whatever happened to the summers that we just laid around and did nothing but lay out? I miss those summers.. We have been going non stop since summer started! My sister has been in town which has been so fun. We just got back from Jackson Hole with my family. It was a lot of fun except for the fact I'm pretty sure that Dillon gets the prize for the worst car passenger. What two year old never falls asleep in the car while driving 5 hours? That would be mine, not only did he never fall asleep but he pretty much cried the whole way there and back. It is something that I never want to experience again. I love Jackson though. It's so beautiful, the Tetons are amazing and there is nothing more gorgeous than the Snake River winding through the valley. We took a boat ride across Jenny Lake & hiked up to Hidden Falls. It was a lot of fun, and it was the perfect hike for my boys. When we got up to the falls Mason said, " Oh my gosh Mom, I could die, it is so gorgeous." He cracks me up. We took a drive up to Old Faithful which was way longer than we thought and again Dillon cried the whole way. We like to torture ourselves apparently. We rode the Alpine Slide twice which Mason only wanted to ride with me because I am way faster than Dad. Hehe. We went swimming and shopped around the town. I seriously could spend every weekend up there. When we left Mason said as he was doing his little fake cry " I'm going to miss our hotel so much". He definately has a future in drama. We also went to the Draper Rodeo which was really fun. We have spent some time at the Herriman Reservoir, which my boys also love. Here are some pictures of some of our summer adventures!

A couple of weeks ago I had the opportunity to take a photography class from my VERY talented sister in law Jodi. She owns A Yummy Life Photography (link on the right of this page). It was a lot of fun and I learned so much in the couple hours I was there. She is doing another class on Tues, July 13th from 6-8pm. The cost is $95.00. It's well worth it!! So its been awhile! We are now in our new home and we love it. The boys are adjusting and it's been great for all of us.We haven't been up to a whole lot lately, just hangin out at home. I am training for a half marathon and am scared out of my mind. I just need to get the confidence and I think I will be okay but the training is hard. If any of you have advice out there I would love to hear it!

So as we have been getting ready to move, we have been going through our stuff at the storage unit. Our stuff has been in there for 2 and half years and boy was I ready to go through and get rid of junk! And junk there was. I must have been on some pretty knarley meds when we were packing up our last house because for the life of me I can't figure out why I decided to keep the stuff I kept. Holy cow. I wish we had a video camera with us because we laughed our butts off opening boxes to see what we would find next. One piece of advice to you ladies, never and I repeat NEVER let your husband do any of the packing without you knowing what he is putting in boxes. An example of what we found in one box (boxed by Cameron himself).. a hammer, a nutcracker, a plastic cup, a couple of pillowcases, some old bank statements, a garden shovel, a bathroom rug, a vase, a diaper. It was like he just went from room to room and picked one thing from each room to put in the box. There were numerous boxes with a smorgasbord of crap. Hey, at least we can laugh at ourselves... I do feel a lot better knowing that we aren't moving crap to our next house. Oh the joys of moving..

Packin up and Movin Out!

So we are moving! I know I sound a little excited, because I am! We have been living in my in-laws basement for the past 2 1/2 years and I am ready to move into a place of our own. I feel a little sad at the same time because this is all my boys have known. We moved in when Mason was just 10 months old and Dillon was born here. They have LOVED living with their Grandma and Grandpa. I think that it will be hard for them to get used to. 2 1/2 years seems like such a long time but it has gone by so fast. It has been a blessing being here. When Dillon was born he was in the NICU for 7 weeks and I COULD NOT have done it if I had not been living here. Cindy my mother in law was nothing short of amazing when it came to watching Mason every day while I made the trek up to the hospital. It makes me teary eyed just thinking about it. I know that we were here for a reason and I will forever be grateful to her for that. They have made it possible for us to get completely out of debt, pay off our medical bills and also to pay off our Jeep. Thanks Brent and Cindy for letting us take over your basement. You can have it back now. :)

Today I am feeling like I need to remind myself how much I have to be grateful for. I have days sometimes when I feel sorry for myself and I feel like I need a major pep talk. So here goes:

Here are some everyday things that make me smile and remind me that I have a good life:

-My boys that sleep in until 9:00 every morning
-Listening to Dillon talk & play in his crib until I go and get him, he is so patient
-Dillon's smile when I go get him out of his crib in the morning
-How Mason likes to snuggle with me for at least 20 minutes every morning on the couch until he really wakes up
-When Mason asks for "Better Toast" for breakfast and I know exactly what he means, (Toast that is not burned with the crust cut off)in case you were wondering
-How Dillon won't eat anything for breakfast unless it's off Mason's plate. :)
-How Dillon likes to run around naked and Mason likes to have his clothes on.
-How Dillon copies everything Mason does
-How Dillon loves to brush his teeth and especially likes to spit in the sink
-How Mason and Dillon love to take baths and love to get their heads dunked in the water
-How all the neighbor kids love Mason and think he is fun to play with no matter their ages.
-How Mason knows how to push my buttons and likes to test my limits.
-When Mason does something wrong he always says" Mom, you are not mad at me anymore?"
-How strong willed Dillon is and how he can hold his own against Mason.
-How Dillon was so strong when he was born despite all that was against him and came out a strong and healthy boy.
-Cameron who puts a bottle in Dillon's crib before he goes to work so I don't have to.
-Cameron who works harder than anyone I know to provide for us.
-Cameron who loves me no matter what, always puts me first and is the only one that really understands me.
-A Mom who will be there for me in a second, and who makes me feel like I am doing a good job at being a Mom.
-A Mom who takes care of herself and who has taught me that exercising and taking care of yourself is important.
-A Dad who is the greatest, funniest, goofiest Dad in the world. We can make eachother laugh like no one else can.
-A Dad who is a great example of love, honesty, hard work, honoring his priesthood, and the list could go on and on
- Sisters who I could not live without. We are all so different but are always there for eachother. I love each one for a different reason
-A sister Amanda who can make friends like no one I have ever seen. She is so accepting of others no matter what. She is one of the strongest person I know. She is beautiful and has taught me so much.
- Abbey who is the most driven, determined, talented girl I know. She has influenced me so much and I hope that I can be like her one day.
- Amelia who is so much fun to be around and is so real. What you see is what you get with her and I love her for that.
-A brother Garrett, who I look up to so much. He has always been there for me and even though we have our differences sometimes, I know that he will always love me.
-Sister in laws who are amazing! I have grown to love them as much as my own sisters.
-In-Laws who have let us live with them for the last 2 years and who have been so great. They are truly amazing for putting up with us, and I am so glad my boys have been able to get so close to them.
- A best friend Brittany who I know will always be my best friend no matter how long we go without seeing eachother. I always look forward to talking on the phone with her. She is a real true friend. I love her so much. We have so much history and she will never get rid of me!
-My boys who I can't remember what life was like without them and don't ever want to. They are truly the reason I get up in the morning and have taught me patience & unconditional love. They are so fun and I love them so much.
-Again, for Cam who is the best! I have known him for about 18 years and knew from the 9th grade that I was going to marry him. I have not regretted it and know that we have so much to look forward to together.

So there you have it. My little reminder and pep talk. Okay I feel better!

Boo on January.

I am not a fan of January. The first part of the month is okay, you have that feeling of starting new, a clean slate and hopefully starting some new resolutions. By the 3rd week, I am totally over it. I have been doing okay on my goals, lost 4 lbs the first week, 2 the second week and none this week. I was a little depressed because I have been eating awesome and working out so what did I do? I made chocolate chip cookies and ate half the dough. I am sick now, maybe I will go throw it up. Just kidding. Maybe.

So here it is, 2010. I have been thinking for a couple of months how I was going to make this year the best ever. I decided that I am going to make this year all about me. That sounds a little selfish, but I think that I deserve it. I am going to take better care of myself by exercising more, eating better and just trying to better myself. I am going to take some classes on things that I am interested in like photography & graphic design. Also moving into a new home is in the works and I couldn't be more excited. I believe that you can't be good at the things that are the most important like being a good mom, wife, daughter, sister and friend until you are happy with yourself, and that is my ultimate goal. I hope that I can make it happen this year. I hope that you all have some good goals this year and that you can become the best you can be.

Over the weekend we celebrated Mason's 3rd birthday. It was a lot of fun. We had a big party with cousins complete with a pinata, the bouncy slide, dinosaur cupcakes, balloons, it was a dinosaur extravaganza! All of Mason's wildest dreams came true when he got a dinosaur as big as Dillon. He hasn't stopped carrying it around. Thanks everyone for all the nice gifts and for helping make it a great day for Mason! He is still singing happy birthday to himself!

THE WRONG LIMB

So, my little Dillon had a little fall last week out of his high chair. Once I made sure that there was no serious head injury and he had stopped crying, I though that everything was hunky dory. I put him on the floor and usually he is off as fast as can be crawling and getting into everything. This time, he just sat there and looked at me. He started to get into the crawling position when he started crying and just sat back down. Huh? I tryed everything to get him to crawl to me, he wouldn't. He finally decided he could scoot on his bum and get around okay without using his legs, ( or so I thought). I immediately thought there was something wrong with his leg. I call the Dr. and he tells me I have to take him to Primary Children's to get x-rays. So, my Mom and I hop in the car and drive up to the hospital. 5 HOURS & 2 leg x-rays later we FINALLY get out of there. They did not find anything wrong, so I was just supposed to watch him to make sure it starts to get better. A couple of days pass and still no crawling. He will walk while holding my hand and move his legs around fine, it's only the crawling that is bothering him. I started growing a little suspicious that maybe it wasn't his leg afterall. I finally came to the conclusion that it was his wrist that was bothering him. Stupid me. I felt so bad that I hadn't caught it before then and had wasted all that time getting x-rays on his legs. So, we found out last night that he does have a small fracture in his wrist and has to be in a cast for 3 weeks. Poor little baby. I feel so bad for him! He is just in a little splint right now, and is doing really well with it. I will post pictures soon when he gets his actual cast on!

SO I HAVE BEEN THINKING LATELY ABOUT SOME STUFF. IT SEEMS I HAVE BEEN BOMBARDED LATELY WITH WOMEN THAT ARE "CRAFTY". I AM NOT ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE THAT CAN MAKE SOMETHING OUT OF NOTHING NOR DO I WISH I COULD. I DO NOT HAVE THE PATIENCE FOR SEWING, STAMPING, SCRAPBOOKING, PAPER CRAFTING & ANYTHING ELSE THAT INVOLVES A NEEDLE & THREAD, RIBBONS, GLUE, VINYL LETTERING ETC. I THINK IT'S GREAT IF YOU LOVE TO DO THAT KIND OF THING, JUST DON'T MAKE THE REST OF US FEEL DUMB IF WE CAN'T FIGURE OUT HOW TO MAKE CURTAINS OUT OF AN OLD PAIR OF PANTS. I JUST CAN'T SEE IT AND I DON'T THINK I EVER WILL. I HAVE TO ADMIT WHEN I FIRST HAD MASON AND WAS NO LONGER WORKING, I THOUGHT I WAS JUST SUPPOSED TO START DOING THINGS LIKE THAT. CAMERON WOULD JUST LAUGH AT ME AND SAY "HONEY, IT'S JUST NOT YOU". HE IS RIGHT, IT'S NOT ME. SOMETIMES I FEEL LIKE A CRAPPY MOM BECAUSE I CAN'T MAKE MY KIDS CLOTHES, OR COME UP WITH "FUN" CRAFTS FOR THEM TO DO DURING THE DAY. MY IDEA OF KIDS CRAFTS IS A COLORING BOOK AND CRAYONS. SO FOR ALL OF YOU MOM'S LIKE ME OUT THERE,(I CAN'T BE THE ONLY ONE RIGHT?) DON'T FEEL SO BAD ABOUT YOURSELVES. OKAY, I'M DONE.

we went to disneyland for 5 days last week. we had a blast. i thought my legs and feet were seriously going to fall off. we figured we walked a full marathon in 5 days. we stayed at the disneyland hotel which was really nice. mason had so fun. he was star struck at the sight of lightning mcqueen, to be honest I was a little star struck. i never want to see the electrical parade again and those dancing monkey men. all in all it was a great time and i missed dillon like crazy. so grateful that my mom watched him while we went. i didn't take a lot of pictures but here are a few.

If you know my little Mason you know he is pretty fearless and is not afraid of much. It proved to be very evident today when I took the kids to the pool at the gym. All was going well and Mason was having a blast and getting the hang of his life jacket. We got out for some lunch, when all of a sudden after only looking away for seconds, Mason went missing. My sisters and I searched for the longest 6-7 minutes of my life. I thought for sure he was at the bottom of the pool. I was hysterical and had the most awful images in my head. After what seemed like a lifetime a lifeguard comes walking over with Mason soaking wet and crying and asks me if this is the little boy I am looking for. Where was he you ask? Ummm, he decided to go down the huge 2 story waterslide all by himself with no life jacket. Keep in mind that you have to climb about 20 steps to get up to the waterslide, and that still wasn't intimidating enough for him. I was kind of upset at the lifeguard at the top of the slide that let him go down. Thank goodness for that lifeguard that caught him at the bottom, he would have gone under for sure! If it's true what they say about your 2 year old having the same personality when they are 16 I am in for real trouble.

My little Dillon turned 1 on the 16th. I can't believe how much he has grown over the past year. It's hard to belive that he was so sick just a year ago! What a difference a year makes. I am pretty sure that he is the sweetest & cutest boy in the whole world. We love him so much and could not imagine our life without him. We threw a little party for him at the park and had family come and celebrate. We had cupcakes and ice cream and he totally went to town on his cupcake! Sunday dinner's at Palmer's are always a lot of fun. They usually consist of some sort of water feature, this particular Sunday we filled up the cooler and let Mason and Jack dunk their heads and sit in it. Yes, we are a little white trash. Also, there are usually races and popsicles and water balloons & all sorts of fun. Thanks Cindy and Brent for not caring what your yard looks like after Sunday nights. It takes a day or two to clean up but I know the grandkids absolutely love it!

Recently, I have been so frustrated about the way I look. I haven't been able to lose hardly any weight after the birth of my two sons and I felt like I was doing everything I could. Well, my wonderful and beautiful sister Abbey is a personal trainer and she suggested that I come into the gym to get a couple of tests done to see what was going on. The first was a RMR (resting metabolic rate) test that measures your metabolism. To my surprise, I learned that I have a fast metabolism and that I am not eating enough! They metabolic specialist told me that I need to up my calories by about 400 a day. The other test I did was a MAP test. Which measures where my heart rate needs to be to burn the most fat when working out. It was very eye opening. Well after combining these two things that I learned, along with purchasing a heart rate monitor (this has totally changed the way I work out) I am happy to say that I have lost 4 lbs in two weeks which is my goal (2 lbs a week). Hopefully by June I will be swimsuit ready. If you are frustrated, I would HIGHLY recommend getting these tests done at your local gym, or join Lifetime Fitness, it is the greatest gym! I have been eating so good and have come to LOVE oatmeal which I used to hate. I feel better and I know that I can reach my goals. I want to say thanks to Abbey for being there through this and giving me the motivation and not letting me give up!

My baby will be 9 months on Monday. How time flies. He loves bathtime, he adores Mason, he loves his mama, and he lights up when his daddy comes home from work. He loves when anyone pays attention to him. He is constantly smiling and is just so happy. We love you little Dillon!

Today I went to the grocery store. I am not a huge fan of going to the store with my 2 boys as it is, but today was worse than usual. Mason wanted to get in the massive cart that doubles as a car that I can't stear and the last time I let him get in one I took out the entire cereal aisle. I refused to let him this time and he proceeded to throw a fit. I told him that I would get him a cookie if he would stop crying. He stopped immediately. I went over to the bakery and picked out a carton of shamrock sugar cookies and secretly gave him one. It's not stealing if you are planning to buy, right? Well, I get to the check out and get all the bags in the cart and take out my debit card and swipe, and swipe, and swipe again. Nothing. I look down and notice that I am trying to swipe my library card and then notice that my debit card is not in my wallet. I look at the checker and say. "Oh Crap, I took out my debit card over the weekend and forgot to put it back in my wallet". I ask her if they will hold my groceries while I run home to get my card. I won't be longer then 15 minutes tops. She looks at me wierd and then looks at Mason. There is little Mason with green sprinkles all over his face and he has a shamrock cookie in each hand. Oh great. she thinks I am trying to steal cookies now. Well, she did let me run home and I was back in 10 minutes as promised. It was a little embarrasing and I probably won't open stuff until I get it home now. I learned my lesson.

These are the names of our new pets. I took Mason to the pet store today and decided to get Mason a couple of fish. I don't have to walk them or take them out & the whole set up including the fish only cost $13.00. Mason dropped them on the car floor about 5 times on the way home & they are still alive...definately my kind of pet. I am sure one day we will have a dog but until then, Woody and Buzz will do just fine.

HEADING TO REHAB

In the next couple of weeks there is going to be an intervention... Mason will be forced to give up his beloved binky. I don't think there has ever been a kid that loves his binky more. I REALLY, REALLY need suggestions on how to get rid of it once and for all. If any of you out there have any creative, fool proof ideas that have worked for your little ones please let me know. For the record, I don't think the binky fairy would work with him. The intervention is scheduled for March 1st. I have never been so nervous. I may need a stint in rehab after this is over.

I have been taking this class at the gym called Fusion. It's pretty much like Yoga but with elements of TaiChi mixed in. I have been taking it religiously for about a month and I LOVE IT!!! Abbey my sister is the teacher and I can't say enough good things about her. She is such an amazing teacher. I can't believe how far I have come in a month. I can do poses that I never thought were possible. I can tell a difference in my flexibility and strength. I even got my own Yoga mat! I never thought that I would be interested in something like this but I can't wait for this class each week. Thanks Abbey for being a great teacher and for showing me that I can do something like this!!

ALL FOR A BEAR

Mason has this bear (pictured above) that he LOVES. He carries it around with him and sleeps with it every night. Well, on Tuesday night he wakes up at 2:30 AM and starts crying because he wants his bear. I started panicking because I thought I had left it out in the car. I am not about to go out in below freezing weather to fetch his beloved bear. So I run to get another bear. Surely I can trick him into thinking that this is his bear, it's dark afterall and he won't be able to tell. Boy, was I wrong. I bring it in to him and just tuck it under the covers hoping he will just feel the fur and think this is his bear. He immediately grabs it and holds it up like he is inspecting it and throws it at me and says "no my bear". Are you kidding? So I run to tell Cameron that I have to go outside and get Mason's bear from the car knowing that Cameron would go for me :). He gets dressed goes out to the car and searches the car, no bear. He did find something else of interest. Both sets of our car keys on the front seat with the door unlocked(my fault). Some thief could have hit the jackpot. So Cameron comes in with no bear and I am trying to convince Mason that his bear is at Grandma's having a sleepover. He isn't having it. All of this agony, and we end up finding mr.bear on the floor in Mason's room. What? Yes, all of this for a flippin bear.

LAUNDRY SLACKER

I JUST FEEL SO BLESSED TO HAVE A HUSBAND THAT IS THE GREATEST AND TWO BEAUTIFUL HEALTHY LITTLE BOYS THAT I LOVE MORE THAN I CAN SAY. I SPENT THE DAY WITH MY LITTLE FAMILY. WE HAD TO GO TO THE DOCTOR IN THE MORNING FOR DILLON'S 4 MONTH CHECK UP, AND TO GET FLU SHOTS. THEN WE WENT TO LUNCH AND WENT TO THE PARK. MY MOM WAS WONDERFUL AND TENDED MY BOYS WHILE CAMERON AND I WENT TO A MOVIE. IT WAS SO NICE TO HAVE SOME TIME ALONE WITH CAMERON. He hasn't said the words "Ba Ba" in two days and has slept pretty much through the night the past two nights. He won't take a sippy so we pretty much went cold turkey. Weekend Getaway

Last weekend we took a little trip up to Bear Lake and stayed in my family cabin. We took some of Cameron's family. It was a lot of fun and much needed. We hadn't been anywhere all summer because of Dillon's situation, so it was really nice to get away finally. We spent time at the beach riding four wheelers and playing in the freezing cold water. I think that Mason is missing a cold sensor because he acts like it doesn't even bother him. He would play in it all day. On Saturday, we took a little day trip up to Jackson Hole and had lunch and just enjoyed the fall weather. It was so beautiful.

We had a fun weekend, Cameron turned the big 3-0! We have officially been together half of his life. Cameron is the greatest husband, father, son and brother anyone could ask for. I love you babe! We had dinner with some good friends, he got to play 18 holes of golf and then we went to a movie and then on Sunday headed up to the cabin for a family dinner and 4 wheelers. Mason is absolutely obsessed with 4 wheelers. He would have rode them all night if we let him. Speaking of Mason, we have officially renamed him Dennis the Menace. He is so mischievious. Here are just a few of the things that he has done in the last couple of weeks. He drank out of my neighbors bird bath after which my nephew informed me that "birds carry diseases you know" thanks Ethan!, he crawled and drank out of the gutter after a rainstorm, he frequently takes off his diaper and does his business in random places, he gets in the tub fully clothed and turns the water on ready to take a bath & his favorite word is "mine". All this and he isn't even 2 yet, I am really in for it, but we still love him more than anything. Dillon is such a little angel, he is sleeping through the night, smiling all the time and is the best baby. We just can't get enough of him.

I know that you have all been wondering where in the heck I have been and waiting anxiously for a new post from me. Ha Ha... I have been without a computer for the last couple of weeks and let me tell you it has been hell. I must have a sick addiction to the computer because I seriously didn't know what to do with all my extra time. Here is what I did manage to do.
Finished Breaking Dawn in 3 days... Awesome
Got into a great exercise routine
Watched Enchanted for the first time- loved it
Went on a walk every morning with my kids in our new double stroller
Watched way to many episodes of Backyardigans and Diego. You know you've had enough of the Backyardigans when you talk about which songs and episodes you like the best while visiting with a friend. Good Times Jewels!

I finished an entire spinning class from my sister Abbey! I was so proud of myself, I have finally taken the step to getting back into shape. It hasn't been easy, but I know it will pay off in a couple of months. My sister is such an amazing teacher. She is so motivating and she makes the hour go by really fast. She is so great at teaching, you can tell that everyone in the class just loves her classes. She was turning people away last night because every single bike was taken and there are 50! So, here's to the beginning of a long road ahead... hopefully I can keep myself motivated!

I ended my last post with "now the fun begins" and boy has it been fun! It's amazing how much one little baby can change your whole daily routine. I guess I just forgot what it was like with a newborn. Dillon has been so great. He is a little bit more fussy then Mason was, but still not bad. Mason has been great with him. There have been a few instances like when Mason put his big tractor on Dillon's face. He is also fascinated by Dillon's poop, everytime I change his diaper (which is a lot I might add, I have never seen a kid poop so much and at 2:00 in the morning!) he has to watch and point at it and say eww, poop. He is also fascinated by Dillon's formula and took a drink of it the other night and immediately threw up everywhere, that was a fun one to clean up. There have only been a few jealous rages like yesterday when Mason threw my mother-in-laws glass figurines on the floor and broke them into pieces. I love having my two boys, and I wouldn't trade them for anything.

The Best Day

45 Days, 90 trips to the hospital & lots of tears and smiles the day came when we got to bring our sweet boy Dillon home. I got a call yesterday morning at 9:00 saying that we could come and get him at 12:00. We were so excited, and a little anxious. Well, 24 hours later I can say that I haven't wiped the smile off my face, except maybe this morning at 3:00AM. :) He has been such an angel, and we are so happy to have him home. Mason has been such a great big brother. He patted Dillon's head all the way home yesterday, and wants to be involved in every part of taking care of him. We are so happy to finally be together as a family. We are so grateful for all of the prayers, phone calls, gifts & concern from everyone. We haven't had to pay for a gallon of gas since the end of June! Everyone has been so thoughful in our time of need. The nurses at PCMC are incredible and I am so thankful for the amazing care that they gave to Dillon. We know that we have had miracles happen in the last couple of months, and prayers answered. Now the fun begins......

Day 39...Dillon is so close to coming home, I just know it. He has been doing so good the last couple of weeks with everything. Basically, we are just waiting on him to eat the full 2 oz and tolerate it. Sometimes it gets frustrating to think that is the only thing that is holding us back from bringing him home. But, then again I want to bring him home at 100%. I was hoping for this weekend, but it probably won't be until next week now. Slowly but surely!!

On a funnier note, Cameron and I had to complete an infant CPR class, and they gave us a practice blow up doll to take home. They call it the "mini baby", and it's the ugliest thing you have ever seen. Well, we brought it home and it has become Mason's new best friend. He toted it around with him everywhere yesterday. He shared his lunch with it, and gave it a ride on his little push car. I have posted a picture of him and mini baby watching Noggin on the computer. It's so cute, hopefully he will like Dillon as much as mini baby.

A Rollercoaster Ride

The last couple of days have been pretty eventful! Sunday night I was on my way home from the hospital and my car starts to overheat, anyone who knows our Jeep is probably laughing right now. Everything on it has been replaced, and it breaks down on a monthly basis. I guess you could say we bought a lemon because it's only about 6 years old! Anyway, I sat on Foothill Blvd for an hour waiting for a tow truck and for Cameron to come and get me. Luckily the part that needed to be fixed was under warranty so we dodged a bullet! So, Monday comes and I go to the hospital Monday night with my Mom. Dillon had a great week and he had been tolerating his feedings well, and everything seemed to be great. They were even talking about letting us bring Dillon home. We go into his room and the cute nurse looks at me with a distessed look on her face. My stomach immediately dropped and she proceeds to tell they think his infection has come back. I start to cry and the nurse starts to cry because she knows how bad I wanted to bring Dillon home. They were running a bunch of tests and getting x-rays of his belly again. We sat there and waited for the results to come back and sure enough his x-rays showed a little bit of inflammation and free air in the lower right intestine. I was so discouraged and frustrated thinking that we would have to start this whole process all over again with the no eating and 10 days of antibiotics. I called Cameron and he came up with my Dad to give him a blessing. He gave the most amazing blessing I have ever heard. I immediately felt better about it. I stayed at the hospital and held Dillon until about 11:30, then went home to try and get some sleep. 3:30 AM comes and Cameron is waking me up to tell me he is in excrutiating pain and needs to go to the emergency room. He heads to Alta View and they find 2 kidney stones that are trying to pass at the same time!! He comes home around 7:00 and goes straight to bed. I get up and call the nurse and she tells me that Dillon had a great night and they were waiting on results from his last batch of x-rays. I jump in the car and head up to the hospital. The nurse practitioner comes to tell me that his last x-rays showed no signs of free air or inflammation and that all of his blood work came back normal, and that they think it must be just gas and stool trying to pass through. I couldn't believe it! I believe we had a small miracle happen. So, now they are only leaving him on antibiotics for one more day as a precaution and they are going to start feeds again in the next day or two! Whew! It has been a crazy mix of emotions the last couple of days! Great news mixed in with some bad news, but we are hopeful it will continue to be good news from here on out! Oh, and Cameron is still sick and trying to pass his stones. Hopefully he will feel better soon!
